Flights
We recommend searching for flights into John F Kennedy International (JFK) or LaGuardia (LGA).
If you are traveling alone, JFK is well-connected to the city via AirTrain & subway and will be a much more cost-effective way to get into Manhattan. The AirTrain & subway ticket will cost less than $15 one way.
If you are traveling with others, LGA is a nicer airport much closer to Manhattan. It is not well-connected via public transportation for those not used to traveling around New York City, but rideshare costs are typically less expensive than JFK and much more reasonable to split. Uber has just launched a shuttle service from LGA to midtown Manhattan.
Newark Liberty International (EWR) is located near Manhattan in New Jersey. It is not well-connected via public transportation for those not used to traveling around New York City, and is about the same distance away as JFK.
Accommodations
Hotel Blocks
We have arranged for blocks of rooms at the Arthouse Hotel near the wedding venue at a fixed rate. Space is limited, so book early if you would like to stay at this accommodation. Reservations can be made by booking through the link above or calling the hotel at 1.855.649.2300 and identifying yourself as part of the Tomich & De Jesus Ubri Wedding Block to receive the discounted rate.
Other Accommodations
If you cannot secure a room in any of the room blocks, or would rather stay somewhere else, that is ok! There are many hotels near the venue and throughout Manhattan. While not our favorite neighborhood to spend time in, hotels in Midtown Manhattan are plentiful and well-positioned to the venue and many other attractions such as Central Park, Bryant Park, Rockefeller Center, and the Theater District. Almost all subway lines connect through the Times Square, Port Authority, and Bryant Park stations at 42nd Street - making this location a major hub to conveniently explore the entire city.
Additionally, there are Airbnbs that are available to rent throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. Apartments in the city are generally small, so finding a single place for a large group may be difficult. If you’re unsure of where you should stay, browse our neighborhood guide for some of our favorites areas.
Transportation
Getting around Manhattan is very easy! New York is extremely walkable, and the subway system is safe and easy to navigate via any smartphone map or directions app. Fares can be paid via card with tap function or with Apple Pay right at the turnstile. Trains run 24/7 in the city that never sleeps. It may feel intimidating at first, but give it a try!
If the subway isn’t for you, there are plenty of cab and rideshare options available. Hailing a yellow city cab is typically cheaper than ridesharing apps during rush hour and when you’re traveling shorter distances. Just make sure you know the cross streets of where you’re headed unless it’s a major landmark. Curb is the rideshare smartphone app platform for the yellow city cabs, and is a great way to lock in your price and track its location. All yellow city cabs now accept credit cards and Apple Pay.
Uber, Lyft, Revel, Curb, and other app-based ridesharing platforms all serve all five boroughs of New York City. They’re typically the better option when traveling longer distances or outside of rush hour times.
We do not recommend renting a car as finding parking in Manhattan is difficult, time consuming, and potentially very costly.
Extending Your Stay
New York is an amazing place, and there is lots to see outside of the city limits! If you’re thinking about extending your stay and venturing outside of the city, here are some recommendations for local travel that we love in the summer: Montauk, Fire Island, Cold Spring, Beacon, and the Catskills.
